Esdeath x Male Reader(Remastered) - Part VI

The days following your encounter with Esdeath were very unpleasant. Every time the Revolutionary Army strikes, the more sophisticated the Imperial Empire gets.  As of now, there were only you and three other remaining members of Night Raid. The rest were killed in action due to encounters with the enemy.

You never knew what fighting in a war is like, but after what happened the past few days, you got a taste of it's nature. Dark....menacing....terrifying....bloody....and worst of all, loss of countless lives. Lives who fought tirelessly for a possible bright future for generations to come.










Leone: Looks like it's down to the five of us.

You: So it would seem.

Akame: *Nods her head* This place feels really big now.

Tatsumi: *Looks at the ground* Yeah, it does.

Leone: *Runs up to Tatsumi and wraps her arm around his neck* So, what're we doing after this? After the revolution, there won't be much work for guys like us ya know.

Tatsumi: *Looks at Leone with an annoyed expression* If I recall correctly, you forced me into joining the team, remember that?

You: And I had to join to prove my innocence.

Leone: *Looks at Tatsumi* Aww, I'm sorry sweetie.










*Momentary silence occurs*










Leone: *Pulls Tatsumi a little closer to her* Ah well, guess you'll have to punish me with a spankin!! *Laughs*

You: *You sweat drop upon hearing this* Really? Just hearing that makes me want to know what satisfies you other than alcohol Leone.

Tatsumi: *Breaks free of Leone's grasp and steps back a bit* No thank you!! Besides assassins being out of work means the world is a better place!!

Leone: I guess so. Well, maybe we could be a traveling circus group or something.

Akame: *Nods to Leone's suggestion* Sounds good.

Tatsumi: NO IT DOESN'T!!

Leone: *Looks at you* So, what're you gonna do after the fight's over?

You: *You stand up from your seat* To be honest, I have no idea. I could just move back home in the country. But it's kinda quiet and less action packed there than here.

Tatsumi: I don't know. *You look at him* Peace and quiet seems fine to me.

You: To you maybe. *You sigh* Guess I'm more of an adventurist than I thought.

Najenda: I appreciate what you've all done for the cause.










*You all turn to Najenda as she walks into the room*










Leone: Woah, that sounded way too much like a goodbye boss.

Najenda: I don't know whether we'll meet again. "You and the others approach her" That's completely up to you.

Leone: What're you talking about? *Leone wraps her right arm around Akame* Your gonna have a heck of a time getting rid of these four misfits. *Akame nods to what Leone just said* Am I right?

Tatsumi: Of course!! You know I'm in.

You: I don't have anything else to do anyways.

Najenda: *Smiles* Good. Then this will be Nigh Raid's last assignment: Cut the source of this corruption, find and assassinate Minister Honest.

You: *You walk forward* With your permission Najenda. *Najenda looks at you* Can I say something important?

Najenda: Of course.

You: I have a concern about the battle we're gonna be in.

Akame: What about it?

You: *You look at her* The outcome of the fight isn't the only thing I'm concerned about, it's the people living in the city as well.

Tatsumi: Now that you've mentioned it, I never thought of that till now.

Akame: And we can't change plans now. *She looks at you* What do you suggest we do?










*You walk towards the table and look at it*










You: The enemy's probably aware that we're coming, so we'll might run into heavy fire. And that's what we signed up for.

You *You turn to the others* The people living in the Capital didn't. So our priority, is getting them out. All they want is to live their lives in peace. Being in the crossfire isn't gonna give them that, but we can do our best to protect them.

You: So here's what I suggest we do: We evacuate everyone out of the city. Keep the fight between us and the enemy. If we pull this off, we can avoid any unnecessary casualties.

Najenda: *Thinks this over and looks at you* Sounds good.

Leone: *Looks at you* Does this mean your not gonna join in on the hunt for the minister?

You: Wish I could, but the people go first for me. *You look at Najenda* Think you can assemble a squad to help me Najenda?

Najenda: *Nods to your request* I'll assemble the army's best men now. *Leaves the room*

Akame: *Looks at you* Think you'll be okay?

You: I think so. Besides, there's something I need to do before the fight's over.

Hours later....

Gates of the Imperial Capital










As the morning sun prepares to shine it's light over the Capital, you and the rest of your comrades met up with the Revolutionary Army to prepare yourselves for the coming battle. As of today, this battle will determine the kingdom and it's people's future.

This won't be an easy fight, but you've gotta try. Otherwise, the corruption will continue and cause more pain and misery for everyone across the land.










Najenda: Today, we turn our dreams of revolution into reality and pave the way for a new world. By the strength of our hearts, we will abolish this debauched government. *Raises her flag high in the air* And it's people will finally live in peace!!










After saying this, Najenda and the rest of the Revolutionary forces charged into the city and commenced their attack as you and your squad watched on the city walls nearby.










Kord: It's show time boys.

Hammel: *Looks at you* Think Night Raid will be able to kill the minister?

You: *You look at him* They will. *You turn to your men* I'm not promising a ride home for everyone here, but if your with me, you won't be forgotten. The people need you now.










*Momentary silence occurs*










Taze: I have a wife and a baby boy who live in a village suffering from the government's corruption. As a soldier of the army, I'll do my best to secure a bright future for them. Even if my life is on the line.

Pyron: Eh, I just signed up for the fun of pummeling some government soldiers.

You: *You look at your squad* Let's move out.










With that said and done, you and your squad moved into the city to commence your evacuation mission while Najenda and the others focused on the fight at hand. As of now, there's no room for mistakes.

A few minutes later....

Streets of the Capital










As Najenda and her forces kept fighting the Imperial Army, you and your squad had already commenced the evacuation of all civilians in the area. You guys have already cleared two streets and your third street as we speak.










*Sounds of thousands of people occur as all the civilians in the area leave their homes*










Hammel: Stay together everyone!! Women and children first!!

Kord: No pushing or running either!! Everything's gonna be alright.










"Massive explosion occurs down the street and scares everyone"










Taze: *Looks at Kord in disapproval* Great job in jinxing this man.

Kord: Huh!? How's this my fault!?

You: Enough. *You catch their attention* Arguing isn't gonna make our mission easier. *You look at your comrades* Pyron, Taze, your with me. Looks like we'll have some fun after all.

Pyron: Oh yeah!!

You *You look at Kord* Kord, you and Hammel make sure everyone in the area is evacuated. Leave no building unsearched.

Kord: Roger that.

Imperial Soldier: THERE!!










*You and your comrades look at your front and see eleven to twenty-seven Imperial Soldiers coming towards you*










Imperial Soldier #2: REBEL SCUM!!

Imperial Soldier #3: KILL THEM!!

Kord: Good luck boys. *Leaves you, Pyron, and Taze*

You: *You bring out your shield* You guys ready?

Pyron: *Brings out his sword* I sure am.

Taze: If we get out of this, I'll buy dinner for all of us.

You: We'll see about that man.










With that said and done, you, Taze, and Pyron stood your ground as the Imperial Soldiers kept running towards you guys. Once they were close enough, you jumped into the air and smash your shield on the ground with enough force to make the enemy soldiers to tumble a bit to keep their balance.

While they were doing this, you charged in first and began fighting as Taze and Pyron followed you and do the same thing as well. One after the other, you made sure every single hostile in front of you was down for the count. Some of the Imperial Soldiers were close in killing you guys, but they ended up either have a shield smacked in their faces or their stomach slashed with a sword.

Soon, you and your comrades took out all the Imperial soldiers you encountered earlier and began to make your way towards the next street to meet up with Kord and Hammel.










Pyron: Well, that was easy.

Taze: It was, but the next waves will be a challenge.

You: Let's hope we can evacuate as much people as possible befor-










*Ground shakes vigorously and you, Taze, and Pyron notice this*










Taze: What was that?

Pyron: Think it's an earthquake?

You: No, this isn't an earthquake. It's something else.

Taze: Then what's really causing this?










Taze was gonna get his answer when all of a sudden, a ginormous humanoid being emerged from the Royal Palace and showed itself for all across the city could see. For some, nobody knew what it was, but for Imperial Arms users such as yourself, you knew exactly what this thing was.










Pyron: Wh-Wh-What is that thing!?

You: Primus Imperator, the ultimate Imperial Arms.

Taze: *Looks at you in shock upon hearing this* Wait, that "thing" is an Imperial Arms!?

You: Yes, but I never knew it was real. I thought it was just a myth.










*Primus Imperator begins to conjure up red energy and then fires, causing massive explosions to occur afterwards*










Taze: *He, you, and Pyron look at the destruction behind you* What power.

Pyron: I wish I could take that thing on, but it looks like it'll take more than some fancy sword attacks to destroy it.

You(In head): This is bad!! If this things that strong, then anyone inside the city won't have time to escape when Imperator fires.

You: You two. *Taze and Pyron look at you* Meet up with Hammel and Kord and continue with the evacuation. I'm heading out.

Taze: Where are you going?

You: *You look at them* Somewhere very dangerous.










Without hesitation, you began to make your way towards the area around the Royal Palace as Taze and Pyron went to regroup with Hammel and Kord. The people near Primus Imperator are in grave danger and your gonna make sure they survive this.

As you kept running, the ultimate Imperial Arms continued to fire at random locations as massive explosions occurred afterwards. Not only that, you've also began to notice two men fighting the massive machine head on. One was Tatsumi in his armor Incursio while the other was a dude in dark blue armor that was similar to Tatsumi's Imperial Arm, but had no idea who it is.

Soon, you arrived at the area near the Royal Palace and began to direct everyone towards a nearby bar so they can go into the building's basement.










You: Keep moving everyone!! Keep moving!! *Ground shakes as another explosion occurs* Single file, don't rush.

Mom: Willis!! *You look at her as she looks around* WILLIS WHERE ARE YOU!!

Willis: MOMMY!! *His mother sees him trapped under a large column of wood*

Mom: WILLIS!! *Runs up to her son and begins to help him* Don't worry sweetie!! Mommy's here, I'm gonna get you out of here!!










*You look up at Primus Imperator and see it looking at where your at as the machine begins to charge up another attack*










You: Oh for crying out loud!!










In an act to speed things up, you ran towards the mother to help free her son from the fallen wooden column. While you were doing this, Primus Imperator gets closer and closer to launch another wave of destruction.

Soon, you got the boy out and the mother picked him up as you lead them both to the bar so you three can be safe. Then, as the three of you kept running, Primus Imperator fired and sent it's destructive energy towards the ground.

You, the mother and her son finally arrived at the bar and went straight for the basement as the explosion from Primus Imperator's attack gets closer and closer to your location.










You: GO GO GO!! *You grab the trapdoor of the basement and begin to pull it* I NEED HELP!!

Man: *He and others begin to help you* PULL!! PULL!!

Woman: *Rumblings gets louder and louder* IT'S COMING!!

You: JUST A LITTLE MORE!!










*You and the men finally close the door as the explosion sweeps through the bar like it was nothing*










You: *You and the men hold down the door* HOLD ON!! HOLD ON!!










As you and the men continue to hold the fort, the intense wave of destruction from Primus Imperator's attack shook the basement very vigorously as the sounds of panicked citizens can be heard in the background. And then, in a few seconds, everything went black and silent.
