Esdeath x Male Reader(Remastered) - Part IV

It's been four weeks now since you escaped the Imperial Palace and branded a fugitive to the kingdom. When the government put wanted posters of you across town, you had no other choice but to stay incognito at all times to avoid unwanted attention.

Right now, your at the back of a local bar waiting for someone. Someone you hoped would help prove your innocence and find out what's truly going on in the Capital.










*A hooded girl appears and you notice her*










????: Kind of a strange place to stay at don't you think?

You: I have no other choice. Besides, I'm like you now, General Najenda.

Najenda: *Takes off her hood and reveals her face* FORMER general. Nowadays, I'm just called Najenda.

You: Anyways, have you received my message yet?

Najenda: I have. *Shows you the letter to prove it* But how can I be sure your trustworthy?

You: If I wasn't, Esdeath and her team should've apprehended you by now.

Najenda: *Thinks about it for a moment and then shrugs* Makes sense.

You: Can you help me prove my innocence?

Najenda: *Nods to your question* Yes, but you'll have to do something for me in return.

You: *You listen carefully* Okay.

Najenda: Everyday, the Revolutionary Army is looking for new recruits to prepare for Revolution Day.

You: "Revolution Day"? What's that?

Najenda: It'll be the day we rid our country of the corruption that's been plaguing it for years. Thus bringing an era of order and peace.

You(In head): So the Capital is corrupted. And I never stopped to look closely.

Najenda: So. *You look at her* Are you in? or out?










*Momentary silence occurs*










You: *You walk up to Najenda and shake hands with her* I'm in.

Najenda: Good. *Puts on her hoodie* Let's go.

You: Yes madame.










It stayed quiet for a few seconds because you had to think this through. Of course you can't trust anyone in the government, plus the reward for your capture is really high so there's no hope of getting help from the citizens.

The only people you can trust are Night Raid and The Revolutionary Army.










With that said and done, you followed Najenda until you both left the Capital and into the deep lush forests near the city.

Hours later....










Hours of walking through the forest later, you and Najenda finally arrived at your destination: Night Raid's secret base. When you saw the structure, you knew that Esdeath would do ANYTHING to find what your looking at right now.

After looking at the building for a couple of more minutes, you and Najenda proceeded to enter.










*The two of you enter and you close the door behind you*










Leone: *She, Akame, and the rest of Night Raid walk up to her* Welcome back boss.

Najenda: *Takes off her cloak* Good to be back Leone.

Mine: *Notices you* Who's this?

Najenda: This is (First Name) (Last Name), he used to be a part of the Jaegers until he was framed by the Prime Minister. From here on out, he'll be working along with us while we help him prove his innocence.

Akame: *Looks at you and then looks to Najenda* Is he trustworthy?

Najenda: Yes.

Mine: That better be true, cause if he's not. *Points her gun at you* I won't hesitate to blow his head off.

You: *Gulp* That's a big gun you have there.

Tatsumi: Mine!! Put that down!! If the boss says he's trustworthy, then so be it.

Mine: *Lowers her gun as she groans* Fine, but that doesn't mean I fully trust him.

Najenda: *Growling noise occurs and she notices this* What was that?

You: Sorry. *She and the rest of Night Raid look at you* It was me, I hadn't gotten a decent meal since I was framed. *Your stomach growls*

Najenda: Well, luckily for you it's supper time.

At the dining room....










Tatsumi: So what kind of weapon do you use?

You: *You swallow your food before speaking* A shield.

Mine: A shield? That's it? No sword or anything for offense?

You: Nope. And I prefer to keep it that way unless I need an extra weapon.

Mine: Hmmm. *Continues eating her food*

Najenda: I should remind you all that Revolution Day is coming soon. *Tatsumi and the others look at her* When that time comes, be on your guard and don't go down easily. If we lose, our friends' deaths will be in vain.

You: *You realize something* Wait, you had more members?

Najenda: Yes. Why? You thought that this is all of us?

You: Yeah, but I never knew there were more.

Mine: That is true, but we're all that's left now.

You: What happened?

Leone: So far, we've lost five of our members during our past missions. They fought their hardest till the very end.

You: I'm sorry to hear that.

Tatsumi: It's okay. *You look at him* We all knew what was coming when we joined Night Raid.

Akame: We do this to bring peace to the kingdom, even if we have to get our hands dirty.

Night










Once night time came over the world, it was now time for everyone to get some rest. Everyone except for you. You tried your best to sleep, but something in your head kept you from doing so, no matter how hard you tried.

Irritated by this, you dressed up and decided to take a night stroll in hopes of clearing your head so you can sleep,










*You stop walking for a second and look to the sky*










You: I wonder how Esdeath and the others are doing back at the Capital. I highly doubt they miss me now that they think I'm evil.










Then, all of a sudden, you heard the snap of a twig somewhere around you and you brought out your shield to combat whatever made that noise. Then, out of the blue, a shadowy figure emerged from a bush to your right and began to run away.

Thinking it might be a spy, you pursued the mysterious figure in hopes of catching him or her before he or she escapes.










*You kept running until you stop and can't see him or her anymore*










You: *You breath heavily as you look around* Drat, I lost whatever that was.

You(In head): *You sense something else in the area* Someone's here. And their powerful.










Sensing the presence behind you, you turned around and threw your shield at the target. But when you saw who it was, the only reaction you had at that moment was utter surprise and shock. It was Esdeath!!










You: E-Esdeath!?

Esdeath: (M/n)? What are you doing here? *Throws your shield back to you*

You: *You catch the shield, but keep your guard up* I should be asking you the same thing.

Esdeath: I came out here to look for you, that's why.

You: Where are the others? Are they here too?

Esdeath: No, their back at the palace. Their completely unaware that I'm out here.

You: I see. *You step back a bit when Esdeath went a little closer*

Esdeath: There's no need to be afraid (M/n), I'm not here to bring you in. Not yet at least.

You: Then why are you here? I asked you why your here and I think it's fair that I ask the same thing.

Esdeath: *Sighs* I came here becaus-










But before Esdeath could finish what she was saying, a man wearing a cloak appeared before you guys. Then, out of nowhere, a giant purple glyph appeared on the ground underneath you and Esdeath.










Esdeath: *Draws her sword and points it at the mysterious man* Who are you? State your business stranger.

Mysterious Man: *Evil grin appears on his face* I'm here....to do a field test.










Then, without warning, a bright purple light began to emit from the glyph and engulf you and Esdeath. As for the mysterious man, he jumped out just before the light was at it's brightest.

A few seconds later, the light dimmed away and you and Esdeath were no longer there. Completely gone without a trace.










Mysterious Man: Success. *Turns around and walks away*

The next day....










*You slowly began to gain consciousness again and get up from the ground*










You: Uh. *You rub your head a bit* What happened? *You look around and notice that your someplace else*











You: Where am I?
